London Spirit Women had a huge task on their hands. They could qualify for the Eliminator but needed to beat Welsh Fire by a huge margin. 

Georgia Redmayne was striking the ball beautifully. She got to 35 runs from 28 balls. But teammates were getting out around her. They lost four wickets for just five runs to give Spirit hope.

Fire could only manage 95 total runs, which meant Spirit needed to chase the target in 41 balls or fewer to qualify. 

Openers Tammy Beaumont and Chloe Tryon struggled to get going. Heather Knight and Dani Gibson came in and were hitting the ball to all parts...

...but it was too late. Spirit pulled off an astonishing win, chasing the target with 42 balls remaining. That did however mean they were knocked out of the Women's Competition.

Nothing but pride, and the race to avoid finishing bottom of the table, was riding on the Men's Competition match. 

Josh Inglis has struggled for runs during The Hundred, hitting 55 against Southern Brave but with no other innings of note. But at Sophia Gardens he smashed it. 72 runs from 45 balls. Terrific innings.

Ryan Higgins starred with the ball, taking three wickets for 21 runs. Spirit scored 163, their highest score in the competition.

Early wickets for Blake Cullen made it look like the match was going only one way. Openers Tom Banton and David Lloyd went for nought and skipper Ben Duckett for six.

Enter Glenn Phillips. Wow. Some of the cleanest and biggest hitting you could wish to see. Seven sixes in his innings of 80 runs from 35 balls. It looked for all money like he might be the first batter to score a hundred... but still we wait.

It got tense at the end but Qais Ahmad hit the winning runs. Fire finish seventh and Spirit finish bottom in the Men's Competition.
