VENUE INFORMATION

Before you read on, here are some key things to be aware of before arriving at the ground on a matchday to make entry into the ground as smooth as possible.

Firstly, make sure you have the latest version of The Hundred app. One way to ensure you have the latest version is to uninstall and reinstall it. Secondly, have your tickets ready in The Hundred app: you can view our video guides to accessing and sharing tickets here. Make sure you are logged in to the app before you arrive at the ground. If you’re logged in, and you’ve downloaded your tickets in advance, they will appear in the app without needing mobile or wifi connectivity.

Finally, get to the ground as early as you can. Bag checks are in operation, so there may be queues at the gate. Have your tickets open in The Hundred app before you approach the gate.

Please note, due to Edgbaston Stadium regulations, anybody under the age of 16 attending a Birmingham Phoenix home fixture must be accompanied by an adult.

Opening times

Gates open 90 minutes before play starts.

All matches at Edgbaston in 2023 will be double-headers, with both the women’s and men’s matches on the same day, so make sure you get there early for the first match.

Matchday start times vary, so make sure you’ve looked at your ticket in The Hundred app to see what time the first match starts.

There are a number of items you can’t bring into the stadium.:

No alcohol.
No glass bottles.
Spectators can bring in their own food and drink subject to the above restrictions.
No fireworks or flares.
No weapons, firearms or any other items considered dangerous.
No Flags, Banners, or other signs that are offensive, racist, or commercially or politically motivated.
No instruments, whistles or horns, unless agreed with the venue in advance.

Sustainability

This summer, Sky Sports and Sky Zero are encouraging fans to use low-carbon transport options and protect the sport they love from the impacts of climate change. Sky will be activating this campaign at the matches at Edgbaston on 10^th and 13^th. Look out for the Sky Zero Walk of Fame activation in the Pavilion, where you can have some fun and recreate the greatest walk in cricket – the Walk to the Wicket.

Club Initiative

At Edgbaston, we understand the importance of sustainable practices and ensure they are at the centre of everything we do while continuing to support our planet, our people and our community through our Edgbaston 4 sustainability campaign.

We aspire to be leaders in the sporting and event industry and develop leading sustainable ways to deliver all our events, packages and operations.

We are operating several sustainability projects that support our sustainability strategies. These are set out across 4 areas:

Sustainability Around the Ground:

Reusable e-cups - spectators will pay a £1 deposit for the cup & either keep the cup as a souvenir and reuse or return it in exchange for their deposit. 500,000 plastic alternatives are saved each year due to phasing out single-use plastics.
Water refill stations are located around the ground for spectators to refill bottles.
All non-recyclable waste goes to RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel).
100% of electricity supplied to Edgbaston comes from renewable sources.

Food & Beverage Options:

Edgbaston partners with a community-owned organic farm for concession catering.
50% reduction in the consumption and use of beef across our menus
100% of beef and lamb is sourced from ethical UK suppliers
Unused edible food (meeting hygiene standards) is distributed to local charities
Dedicated food bins to segregate waste
Fresh fruit and vegetables are grown on-site and used across matchday menus
80% of fruit and vegetables used are seasonal British produce.

Have your tickets ready via The Hundred app
Plan your journey to and from Edgbaston in advance and give plenty of time to arrive.
Leave the car at home and use public transport wherever possible, there are many great rail and public bus routes.

TRAVEL

Please see the below information will help you plan your travel to Edgbaston and help make your visits as enjoyable as possible.

By Car

We encourage fans to leave their car at home and use public transport.

If you plan on driving, please make sure you book your car parking in advance to secure your space. There will be parking restrictions implemented on the streets around the stadium.

Official car parking is available to purchase at off-site locations online here.

There are a small number of Blue Badge parking available and these are available to buy online here.

Please do not travel without first booking your car park space – there are only a limited number of spaces available, and this will guarantee you a parking spot close to the stadium.

Birmingham clean air zone

Please note that from 1 June 2021, Birmingham City Council introduced a Clean Air Zone within the A4540 Middleway (Inner City Ring Road).

Edgbaston is not within the Clean Air Zone, however, if you drive through the Clean Air Zone area in a car or van, you could be charged £8 per day if your vehicle does not meet the required standards.

Driving on the A4540 Middleway itself will not incur charges. You can check if you will be charged using the Government vehicle checker and view a map of the Clean Air Zone, on the Brum Breathes website.

Shuttle bus

Shuttle Bus service will be available for all The Hundred fixtures in 2023. The 501 Shuttle Bus pick-up point is located directly outside New Street Station on Smallbrook Queensway (opposite TK Maxx and close to the Bullring).

The service is convenient for users of both New Street and Moor Street Train Stations. Buses will be running back from the stadium to the city centre after the close of play.

Return tickets for the Shuttle Bus service can be purchased on the day from the driver.

Public bus

There are regular local buses to the ground from south-west Birmingham and the city centre. National Express buses 45 and 47 have services between the city centre and Pershore Road which is a 2-minute walk to the ground.

Taxi drop off & pick up

We kindly ask all spectator to arrange taxi drop off and pickup away from Edgbaston to avoid unnecessary traffic and to adhere to local parking restrictions.

By Bike

Edgbaston is easy to get to by bike with both the Rea Valley and the A38 (Bristol Road) cycle route close by, offering a safe way to travel to the stadium.

Bike stands are available near the Main Reception, however, please note that all bikes are left at their owner’s risk.

By train

Birmingham New Street Station is the main rail hub for the city, with connections from all over the country. There will be a Shuttle Bus service from the station directly to and from Edgbaston.

FACILITIES

Accessibility

Parents can bring buggies to the venue. There will be a designated area to leave buggies on arrival. Buggies are not allowed in the stands.

Around the venue, there are a number of wheelchair-user areas located within the stands to ensure fans remain a part of the atmosphere. Elevated wheelchair positions are located in the West Upper Stand and the South Stand Lower. These can be accessed by using the elevators in Main Reception. There is also pitch level wheelchair accessible seating at the front of the Eric Hollies Stand.

Seating for Easy Access and Ambulant Disabled supporters is located in the South Lower Stand with level access from Main Reception. If you would like to discuss your access requirements in more detail, please contact tickets@edgbaston.com

Edgbaston offers a free ticket for personal assistants attending a game to assist a disabled guest. Please contact Edgbaston directly to arrange this via phone: 0330 551 1994 (option 1), Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.

Lifts, ramps and staircases are available around the ground, while the venue’s stewarding team are available to provide assistance to any fans who require it.

Edgbaston is a proud partner of the National Key Scheme (NKS), which offers disabled people independent access to locked public toilets. These can be found around the ground, and stewards will carry a key for fans who are not part of the scheme or who have forgotten to bring their key with them.

Edgbaston also offers a Changing Places toilet located behind the Eric Hollies Stand. To use the Changing Places facility, please ask one of the stewarding team on duty at the Eric Hollies Stand.

Gender neutral toilet and nursing rooms are available.

Multi-faith Room

Multi-faith Rooms are available in the South Stand on the first floor, next to the 501* Lounge, and behind the Selco Builders Warehouse Family Stand.

To access the Multi-faith Room, please speak to a steward on the day.

Sensory Rooms

Sensory Rooms are available for children and adults with sensory processing issues to attend a match in a calm environment at Edgbaston Stadium. The specially designed spaces are located in the South Stand and in the RES Wyatt Stand.

Shop

Make sure you visit the on-site shop at Edgbaston, located at Store ’94, to get your Birmingham Phoenix kit. You can also get the kit online via The Hundred's Online Store.

Crowd Behaviour

The Hundred is for everyone. We want everyone to feel welcome on our match days and to have a brilliant experience. Anti-social or discriminatory behaviour of any kind is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Reporting these types of behaviour will help us to ensure The Hundred is a welcoming and inclusive competition and experience for everyone.

If you experience or witness any anti-social or discriminatory behaviour on a match day at Edgbaston, please report it as soon as possible via the Edgbaston App, or alert a steward so that Edgbaston can try to deal with the issue at the time.
