Meet the Men's Eliminator: Manchester Originals vs Southern Brave
FEATUREAre you ready for the Men's Competition Eliminator? It's on Saturday 26 August at The Kia Oval!
Three teams are left standing in the Men's Competition in The Hundred, and Saturday sees Manchester Originals and Southern Brave battle it out for the right to face Oval Invincibles in Sunday's final.
And in preparation for Saturday's eliminator, we've taken a closer look at both teams' journey through the competition.
Manchester Originals
The Originals came second in last year's competition, beating London Spirit before being defeated by Trent Rockets in the Final, and they will aim to go one better this time having finished second by winning four of their matches, losing three and having one rained off.
Jos Buttler has been prolific, with his run total of 298 beating every other player during The Hundred 2023, including a tally of 75 against Northern Superchargers.
Calvin Harrison hasn't been in the competition for long, but made his mark immediately. In the first of his two Group Stage appearances, he took five wickets for 11 runs, the best bowling figures ever in The Hundred.
Southern Brave
After winning the inaugural campaign in 2021, and missing out completely last year having finished seventh, Southern Brave's men are back in the big time.
They have an identical record to the Originals, which includes a victory by six wickets against them a mere three days before the teams meet with a place in the Final at stake.
Chris Jordan is currently ranked as the Most Valuable Player in the Men's Competition this year, having recorded 107 runs and eight wickets.
There is no man that has taken more wickets than Tymal Mills' 15 in 2023, with that tally including a hat-trick during Brave's win against Welsh Fire.
