One additional player per men’s team. Chosen in the Vitality Wildcard Draft. The Men’s Competition squads are now complete.
The eight teams in the Men’s Competition have today confirmed their selections in the Vitality Wildcard Draft. With this, each men’s squad is now complete and ready for The Hundred to begin on Wednesday 3 August. The final names for the Women's Competition squads have also been confirmed - click here to view those.
A quick catch-up in case you’re unaware of how the Vitality Wildcard works. In April, the Men’s Draft took place to fill out the main 14 slots in each squad. Last month, the Overseas Wildcard saw each team pick up an additional overseas player.
That left the Vitality Wildcard Draft. This is a draft mechanism to secure one additional domestic player, giving teams opportunities to get someone who has been performing well in the Vitality Blast.
The draw order was as follows:
- Manchester Originals – used their Right to Match
- Birmingham Phoenix
- Welsh Fire
- London Spirit
- Southern Brave
- Trent Rockets
- Oval Invincibles
- Northern Superchargers
The Right to Match enables a team who previously owned a player to sign them again, should they wish, once a different team attempts to sign them. Manchester Originals were slated to have fourth pick before they used their Right to Match.
And here’s who each team picked!
