Oval Invincibles and Manchester Originals will be making history as they step out onto the pitch in the first match of The Hundred. But who are three heroes from Oval Invincibles that could swing the tie in their side’s favour?

Dane van Niekerk

Devastating with both bat and ball, van Niekerk is an all rounder that could clinch the game in either innings. The South Africa captain has a lot of experience, making her debut for the national side at 16 before becoming captain in 2016, as well as winning two Women's Big Bash League titles in 2017 and 2018. 

Marizanne Kapp

Kapp is another of a core of South African overseas players in this Invincibles side. Also an all rounder, Kapp can cause problems with her pace bowling but also punish teams with the bat. Currently the top-ranked international all rounder, her experience in the shorter formats of the game could help the Invincibles to a winning start.

Shabnim Ismail

Ismail is the final one of the South African trio, whose blistering pace bowling and over 250 international wickets has given her a reputation as one of the most feared bowlers in the world. The fast bowler currently sits second in the International T20 rankings for bowlers and can consistently hit top speeds of 80mph.
