During his post-match interview, Quinton de Kock admitted being surprised that it had taken him this long to have been awarded the Cazoo Match Hero award. But to the rest of us, he looked fluent and in great form as he picked apart the Northern Superchargers' bowling attack.

Northern suffered an immediate setback when opener Adam Lyth fell first ball to George Garton.

But they picked themselves up and were led by 35 not out from Dane Vilas, 26 and 24 from Chris Lynn and David Willey respectively on their way to a total of 128.

Paul Stirling and de Kock smoothly kicked off Southern's innings before Adil Rashid and Adam Lyth set Brave hearts aflutter with four wickets.

But de Kock and Chris Jordan were in at the end to take Southern to seven points, within one of leaders Trent Rockets who play tomorrow.
